Terms of use
Last updated: 17 October 2026
1. About these terms
These terms apply to the use of the Tempor app and its related services. Tempor is provided by R. Overduin (sole proprietorship), the Netherlands, who can be reached at info@tempor.org ("we").
You download Tempor from Apple's App Store, so Apple's terms also apply, including the Licensed Application End User License Agreement. These terms supplement it.
2. The service
Tempor shows weather forecasts for places you choose, a rain radar and a wind map. Tempor is free to use; the forecast then comes from the Norwegian Meteorological Institute MET Norway. With the optional Tempor Premium subscription the forecast comes from Open-Meteo, which combines local high-resolution weather models, and you also get the rain forecast and the wind map for 10 days, among other things. The features of the app may change or be extended over time.
3. A forecast is not a certainty
The weather can never be predicted exactly. Data may be incorrect, incomplete or delayed, for example when the weather service is temporarily unavailable. The app then shows that the data may be out of date.
This applies in particular to the rain forecast for the coming hours: showers can form, fade or move in a different direction. The part that comes from a weather model is marked in the app as "Model forecast" and is less precise than the radar.
Do not use Tempor as your only source for decisions where safety is at stake, such as in aviation, on the water or in the mountains. Always follow the official warnings of your national weather service.
4. Tempor Premium and free trial
- Tempor Premium is an optional subscription. Without a subscription, the standard forecast remains available for free. In the euro area, Premium costs €1.99 per month. The current price in your country and currency is shown in the App Store and in the app before you confirm.
- New subscribers get a free two-week trial, once per Apple Account. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the trial, the paid subscription starts automatically.
- The subscription renews automatically every month unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can cancel at any time in your Apple Account settings or in the app under Settings › Manage subscription. After cancelling, you keep Premium until the end of the period you have already paid for; the app then uses the free forecast again.
- Apple handles the purchase and payment. Refunds and the right of withdrawal you have as a consumer in the EU are governed by Apple's terms. You can request a refund at reportaproblem.apple.com.
- Apple will notify you in advance of a price change. You can then cancel before the new price takes effect.
- If Open-Meteo is temporarily unavailable, the app may temporarily show the free forecast.
5. Using the app
You receive a personal, non-transferable right to use Tempor on Apple devices that you own or control, in accordance with the App Store rules. You may not:
- use our server (api.tempor.org) outside the app, for example by retrieving data automatically or reselling it;
- disrupt or overload the service, or circumvent security measures;
- decompile or copy the app, except to the extent expressly permitted by law.
In case of misuse, we may restrict access to our server.
6. Availability and changes
We do our best to keep Tempor working well and without interruptions, but we cannot guarantee this. Maintenance and outages on our side, at the hosting provider or at the weather service may cause interruptions. We may improve the app and change features.
If we discontinue Tempor, we will announce this at least 30 days in advance in the app or on tempor.org. Existing subscriptions will then no longer be renewed.
7. Liability
We are not liable for damage caused by a forecast that turns out to be wrong or by the service being temporarily unavailable. For other damage, our liability is limited to the amount you paid for the subscription in the twelve months before the damage occurred.
These limitations do not apply in the case of intent or gross negligence, nor to the extent that mandatory law, such as consumer law, provides otherwise.
8. Rights to the app and the data
The app, the design, the texts and the logo are ours. The weather data comes from MET Norway, with Premium from Open-Meteo ("Weather data by Open-Meteo.com"), and for the radar and the wind map from KNMI, EUMETNET OPERA, the Deutscher Wetterdienst ("Datenbasis: Deutscher Wetterdienst") and ECMWF. All of this data is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0. We process the data: we convert it, summarise it per day, calculate derived values and make our own rain forecast by moving radar images along. The sources are also shown in the app.
9. Privacy
How we handle data is described in the privacy policy.
10. Changes to these terms
We may change these terms, for example for new features or changes in the law. We will announce important changes in advance in the app or on this page. If you don't agree, you can cancel your subscription.
11. Governing law and disputes
These terms are governed by Dutch law. If you are a consumer living in another EU country, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules of that country and you can also go to the courts in your own country.
Do you have a complaint? Please email us first at info@tempor.org; we will reply within 14 days.
12. Language
These terms were written in Dutch and translated into other languages. In case of differences, the Dutch text prevails.
